Exact engages with Travel Management Company to improve efficiency and achieve cost savings

Background: 

Exact Mining provides high quality services to the mining industry. To service these clients, Exact is required to move staff to and from home locations to mine sites across Australia.

Objectives:

• Reduce Costs
• Transparency with regards to travel costs
• Improve processes and efficiencies

Key insights: 

• No previous agency therefore spend was difficult to establish
• Travel Approval process needed to be enhanced to incorporate bookings via Concierge BT
• Leakage minimised through new booking process
• Opportunities for savings evident, once all bookings made through Concierge BT.

• Implement Approval process via Concierge BT
• Implement Monthly reporting dashboard
• Review Airline expenditure to try and establish better deals
   

Results:

• Booking process fully implemented
• Leakage diminished
• Cheapest Fare Taken increased from 67% to 91% of time
• Average Ticket Price decreased from $389 per ticket to $349 (10% decrease)
